What are they selling?:
As I wandered around the city I found a huge number of stores selling square slabs of cooked meat - "salespeople" had them on sticks waving them in your face - No I didn't!

Like Hong Kong, Macau was "leased" from China, but Portugal held the lease rather than the United Kingdom - it takes just over an hour by boat from Hong Kong to get to Macau - but the contrast could not be more great.

Hong Kong is brash and loud - Macau is a lot more laid back, and a lot more low rise!

Church of St. Paul, Macau

There are a few things to see in Macau - they include the facade of the Church of St. Paul - only the facade is left after a fire in 1835 that started in the kitchen a burnt down the rest of the church!

You can see the Macau Tower from most places in Macau, as it's 339 metres tall!

I re-visited Macau on (another) day trip from Hong Kong while on my 'Silk Road' trip. I was amazed to see how much Macau had changed - what had been almost waste land on my first visit was now huge casino complexes. There was no shortage of Chinese people inside playing just about every game known to man. I found it rather depressing really.
