Like Hong Kong, Macau was "leased" from China, but Portugal held the lease rather than the United Kingdom - it takes just over an hour by boat from Hong Kong to get to Macau - but the contrast could not be more great.
Hong Kong is brash and loud - Macau is a lot more laid back, and a lot more low rise!
There are a few things to see in Macau - they include the facade of the Church of St. Paul - only the facade is left after a fire in 1835 that started in the kitchen a burnt down the rest of the church!
You can see the Macau Tower from most places in Macau, as it's 339 metres tall!
