One of the first Lonely Planet guide books I used was Western Europe, way back in 1996, and it had a photograph of Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany on the front cover. I always wanted to see the castle, and seems it was nominated as one of the new seven wonders of the world (and I'd seen quite a few of the other nominations this year) I decided to head off.
Work sent me on a trip to the Netherlands, and I tagged on a little trip on a sleeper train for after work on friday!
