I can't say I've spent a lot of time in Zambia, I crossed the border from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and I had to pay five pounds for a Zambian visa - if I'd used my Irish passport I'd have got in for nothing. Some times it pays to have duel nationality!
Once I was across the border I was approached by some children - I thought they wanted cash, but in fact all they wanted was a pen or pencil to do their homework. If you do travelling, bring some spare pencils with you!
The Victoria Falls are a truly awesome sight - there is so much water going over the side at one time, and over such a large area - as I got close up I was glad that I'd worn my swimming togs underneath my clothes, I removed my shirt and trousers and put them in a plastic bag to try and keep them dry - the spray from the falls travels a long way!
