Day 1 - Fri 15 Aug 08
Up early to catch the train to Edinburgh from Stevenage. My ticket was for the Quite Carriage, which worked out very nicely. The train took about four and a half hours to get up to Edinbugh, and I got some great views of Newcastle, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Holy Island and Alnmouth.
It was a short walk out of Waverley station to collect the hire car, and then drive up to Glencoe. The weather wasn't that promising for tomorrow, with the clouds and rain blotting out the tops of the hills on the drive through Glencoe.
Found my accommodation for the next couple of nights just 'around the corner' from the climb centre, it's basic but has all that I need. Pop in to the pub next door and have chicken and haggis for supper.
