Back in 1996 I drove through Poland and got to see Wroclow, and camped in the Olympic Stadium there! Then drove on to Opole and had lunch there, before moving on to Krakow.
I spent a afternoon exploring Krakow Castle, and even found a real fire breathing dragon - a metal sculpture in the grounds that spat flames every few minutes!
I was back in Poland on my way to Lithuania in 2010 and I revisited Krakow, seeing the castle and the dragon (that is still spitting flames).
I also made it to the Wieliczka Salt Mine which is nearby. It's an amazing place, and after a climb down a set of wooden steps 65 metres into the mine you immerge into a warren of rather large tunnels. However the most amazing part of the mine is the Cathedral that has been hacked out of the rock salt. Even the Chandeliers are made from salt.
